On October 29, 2025, on the day of the commemoration of Saint Longinus the Centurion, who stood at the Cross of the Lord, Metropolitan Longin of Bancheny prayerfully celebrated the day of his heavenly patron.
The solemn service took place in the chapel of the Trinity Cathedral, consecrated in honor of the bishop's heavenly patron. Six hierarchs of the UOC from different eparchies came to share the joy of the celebration with Metropolitan Longin. Among them were Archbishops Lavr of Irpin, Mark of Borodianka, Athanasius of Kamin-Kashirsky, Siluan of Hertsa, as well as Bishops Cleopa of Novoselytsia and Nikita of Ivano-Frankivsk.
During the liturgy, prayers were offered for peace in Ukraine, deliverance from the enemy, and for those who lost their homes. Special prayers were offered for the spiritual and physical strengthening of Metropolitan Longin himself.
After the service, the hierarchs and clergy performed a glorification of Saint Longinus the Martyr. Archbishop Siluan delivered a congratulatory speech on behalf of the monastery's brethren. Clergy and numerous laypeople who came to the monastery for the celebration joined in the congratulations.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that Metropolitan Longin urged believers not to fear and to rejoice that God allowed us to endure persecutions.
