OCU clerics and students visit Pochaiv Lavra
Representatives of Dumenko's structure visited the largest Orthodox monastery in Western Ukraine.
On October 30, 2026, a group of clerics and students of the Lviv Seminary of the OCU arrived at the Holy Dormition Pochaiv Lavra, reports the official Facebook page of the Lviv Seminary of the OCU.
The note about the trip contains no provocative statements about the monastery or its residents. The Lavra is called "one of the greatest Orthodox shrines of Ukraine, a place of special prayer." It also states that the participants of the trip had the opportunity to "join in the prayers in the holy abode" and "feel the special atmosphere of monastic life."
On the monastery grounds, the students were in civilian clothes, and outside the Lavra they put on cassocks. Also, so as not to provoke questions about canonical affiliation, the clerics of Dumenko's structure either wore no head covering or wore not Greek kamilavkas but skufias, traditional for priests and monks of the UOC.
As the UOJ reported, a "hierarch" of Dumenko’s structure stated that unless the political will changes, the Pochaiv Lavra will not become part of the OCU.
