LGBT and European integration opponents hold large-scale rally in Georgia
On July 2, 2022, a large-scale protest of supporters of traditional values was held in Tbilisi against the festival Tbilisi Pride held in the capital of Georgia on June 28-July 2, reports the information agency “Interpressnews”.
The protesters marched through the streets of Tbilisi and held a many-thousand rally on Rustaveli Avenue in front of the Georgian Parliament building, where they burned symbols and flags of LGBT people.
The protesters then came to the EU Office in Tbilisi and unfurled the Georgian flag in front of it, saying they should defend their flag.
Georgian supporters of traditional values approached the EU ambassador with chants "Go away, go away!" According to the news agency, the protesters said they demand that the EU "accept the Georgian people as they are" if the EU is truly interested in friendship with Georgia.
At the end of the rally, supporters of the “Conservative Movement”, better known in Georgia as Alt-Info, burned the EU flag in front of the EU Office in Georgia.
As reported, Qatari authorities banned LGBT propaganda at the World Cup.
