All-night service in basements: Metropolitan Arseny about life in the Lavra

On July 14, 2022, Metropolitan Arseny, the abbot of the Sviatogorsk Lavra, handed over a new letter from the Lavra, a photo of which was published by Bishop Victor (Kotsaba) in his Telegram channel.

In the letter, the Metropolitan told about how those who remained in the Lavra live under shelling.

"We are in the basements, we serve all-night services and vespers there, we serve liturgies daily in the cathedral, and 2 liturgies on Sundays and holidays, one in the caves. Today there were attacks on the monastery and buildings, which resulted in the destruction of the Intercession church," the bishop wrote. He reported he had received a letter from Vladyka Hilarion on July 10 and called the archpastor's warm words "joy and consolation to the point of tears."

"May the Lord protect you and everyone. We ask for holy prayers. We remain under the Protection of the Mother of God and we wish you the same," the Lavra abbot concluded his short letter.

Earlier, the UOJ published a letter from Metropolitan Arseny about the shelling of the Lavra.
