Hanukkiah is not a Ukrainian tradition. It never was. Ukrainians historically did not place Hanukkiahs — neither in squares, nor in city centers, nor under the cameras and applause of diplomats. This is not a matter of "like it or not," it is a matter of historical reality. Hanukkiahs have appeared in the public space of Ukraine only recently — and they are appearing more and more often, on a larger scale, and more actively with the participation of the authorities.
