Church of the Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos, s. Ivankiv, Kyiv Oblast
On May 21, 2022, in the urban-type settlement of Ivankiv, the seizure of the UOC church was carried out with the participation of authorities, police, and armed individuals in military uniforms. Parishioners, including women, were forcibly pushed away from the church; the invaders, under police protection, cut the doors with a grinder, removed the locks, and burst inside, chanting aggressive slogans. During the assault, believers were insulted, pushed, physically assaulted, and the bishop's vestments were pulled. The altar and the throne in the church were desecrated, vestments were stolen, and the UOC community, along with the rector, was expelled onto the street without the right to take their property. After the seizure, the believers were forced to pray in the open air; later, they faced further pressure and threats, including attempts to ban prayers even in a private house and intimidation with arson.
