Metropolitan Onuphry calls for exchange of prisoners between RF and Ukraine

His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry called on everyone within whose power it is to carry out a large-scale exchange of prisoners between Ukraine and the Russian Federation. He stated this in a video posted on the YouTube channel of journalist Vladimir Zolkin.

"I appeal to those on whom it depends to exchange prisoners of war and to get families reunited: mothers should receive their sons, wives – their husbands, children – their fathers. This must be done,” said the Primate of the UOC. This is precisely the mission of humanism that must be fulfilled in this difficult time so that people do not die in prisons, but return to a normal life."

His Beatitude noted that war gives soldiers a lesson for life, which essence is that a person should not go to war again. "War is not what God blesses. God blesses peace, while war is the devil's ‘blessing’,” said the Metropolitan. “That's why you should listen not to the devil, but to God, and live in peace. Moreover, I wish there could be an exchange between the prisoners, a large-scale one."

Earlier, the UOJ wrote that His Beatitude Onuphry addressed the Russian prisoners.
