Russian Orthodox Church recognizes Macedonian Church
On August 25, 2022, the Synod of the Russian Church decided "to recognize the Macedonian Orthodox Church - Archdiocese of Ohrid as an autocephalous Sister Church, having inscribed the name of its Primate, His Beatitude Archbishop Stefanos of Ohrid and Macedonia, in the sacred diptychs." This is reported by the website of the Moscow Patriarchate.
The hierarchs of the Russian Orthodox Church expressed their hope that “the youngest in the family of autocephalous Orthodox Churches, the Macedonian Orthodox Church, the Archdiocese of Ohrid, will firmly preserve the holy Orthodox faith in purity and integrity and keep loyalty to the Orthodox canonical tradition.”
Earlier, the UOJ wrote that Patriarch Kirill spoke at the Synod about the causes of the war in Ukraine.
