On March 20, 2026, with the blessing of Metropolitan Sergiy of Ternopil and Kremenets, a meeting was held between Archbishop Sylvester of Bilohorod, rector of the Kyiv Theological Academy and Seminary, and the students of Pochaiv Theological Seminary. The event took place in the seminary church dedicated to Venerable Job and Amphilochius of Pochaiv, the UOC Information Center reports.
The hierarch was accompanied on the visit by instructors from the Kyiv theological schools – Hieromonk Ioasaf (Mironov), Hieromonk Pavel (Vitriuk), Hieromonk Parfeniy (Marinich), and Archdeacon Nikodim (Shevchuk). Also taking part in the meeting were Archbishop Iov of Shumsk, rector of Pochaiv Seminary, members of the administration, and students.
During the meeting, Archbishop Sylvester addressed issues facing today’s youth, including the choice of one’s life path and responsibility for one’s vocation. Representatives of the academy told the students how to apply to the Kyiv theological schools and explained the system of study at the academy. Special attention was also given to current issues in the life of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church: the rector emphasized the importance of preserving unity and spiritual steadfastness in the face of present challenges.
At the conclusion of the visit, Archbishop Sylvester conveyed to those gathered the blessing of the Primate of the UOC, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufriy, and presented the seminary with new academic publications prepared by the academy.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that His Beatitude tonsured fourth-year students of the Kyiv Theological Academy and Seminary as readers.
