OCU-affiliated platform posts mock murder video
Supporters of the Dumenko structure have once again posted a video depicting a killing.
The OCU-affiliated media platform Orthodox Easterners [Pravoslavni Skhidniaky – Ed.] has once again published a “humorous” video depicting the murder of an opponent.
In the video, project leader E. Akopov, dressed in a cassock, recites Psalm 116 in Ukrainian: “O praise the Lord, all ye nations: praise Him, all ye people...” Meanwhile, a young man playing the role of a UOC believer confronts him with accusations, shouting: “Schismatics! Banderites! Praying in Ukrainian is a sin! Our grandfathers held services in Church Slavonic!”
In the next scene, Akopov, still wearing his cassock, is shown filling in a grave, saying, “So he doesn’t like Ukrainian.”
In an earlier video from the same series, the head of the Orthodox Easterners project hides the body of a UOC priest who was killed for refusing to pray in Ukrainian.
According to its founders, one of the project’s goals is to “create a space where faith becomes part of life.” Taken together, these incidents raise questions about what actions a faith that inspires such content might lead to in the future.
As the UOJ previously reported, OCU-related platforms have been testing the idea of killing UOC clergy.
