A monastic tonsure was held on March 19, 2026, at the Mykhnivka Convent of the Volyn Eparchy. The rite was performed by Archbishop Afanasiy of Kamin-Kashyrsk, vicar of the eparchy, after the regular evening service. The UOC Information Center reported this on its Facebook page.

A resident of the monastery was tonsured into the mantia and received the name Nectaria, in honor of St. Nektarios of Aegina. After the rite, Archbishop Afanasiy congratulated Nun Nectaria and wished her God’s help in bearing her obedience in service to the Lord, the Church, and her neighbors. Following established tradition, the new nun was also congratulated by the sisters of the monastery and all the faithful present at the service.

Earlier, the UOJ reported that a monastic tonsure had also been performed at the Kniazhychi Monastery.
