On March 24, 2026, a monastic tonsure was performed at the convent dedicated to the “Joy and Consolation” Icon of the Mother of God in the village of Velyka Olshanka, Kyiv Region, the UOC's Information Center reports.

Archbishop Iona (Cherepanov), the spiritual father of the community, tonsured riassophore nun Seraphima into the lesser schema. During the rite, she retained her previous name in honor of one of the highest angelic ranks – the seraphim.

Earlier, the UOJ reported that a monastic tonsure was performed at the Krasnohirsk Monastery of the Cherkasy Eparchy.
