On March 27, a so-called ecumenical Way of the Cross took place on the territory of the "Saint Sophia of Kyiv" Reserve, organized with the participation of representatives of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic and Roman Catholic Churches, reports the ugcc.ua website.

It is reported that the procession was led by the Apostolic Nuncio to Ukraine, Archbishop Visvaldas Kulbokas. The event was also attended by the head of the UGCC Sviatoslav Shevchuk, the ordinary of the Kyiv-Zhytomyr diocese of the RCC Bishop Vitaliy Kryvytskyi, other Uniates, as well as representatives of public organizations and government structures.

As the organizers stated, the action was dedicated to prayer for prisoners of war, their families, and just peace. Participants walked through the territory of Saint Sophia, accompanying their path with speeches.

In conclusion, the head of the UGCC led a service at Saint Sophia's Cathedral before the mosaic of the Mother of God Oranta.

As the UOJ wrote, earlier the leader of the Uniates proposed that the state make up a list of "national shrines" that are symbols of unity and therefore cannot be in the "exclusive use" of one confession. Shevchuk included Saint Sophia of Kyiv among such objects.
