The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has decided to include the complex of monuments of the Holy Dormition Sviatohirsk Lavra in the State Register of Immovable Monuments of Ukraine. The corresponding resolution was supported at the government meeting on April 8, 2026.
As reported by Deputy Prime Minister for Humanitarian Policy – Minister of Culture Tetiana Berezhna, this concerns the inclusion in the register of 13 objects of cultural heritage of national significance located in the Donetsk region. Among them are the complex of buildings of the Sviatohirsk Lavra and the St. Nicholas Church in Druzhkivka.
It is noted that the decision was made within the framework of the policy of preserving Ukraine's cultural heritage, especially in wartime conditions. The authorities state that they are acting out of necessity to protect historical and spiritual monuments located in high-risk zones.
As the UOJ wrote, humanitarian aid from Bukovyna was brought to the Sviatohirsk Lavra ahead of Easter.
