Kasperov Icon of the Theotokos honored in Odesa

On April 15, 2026, Wednesday of Bright Week, the feast day of the Kasperov Icon of the Mother of God, Metropolitan Agafangel of Odesa and Izmail celebrated the festive Divine Liturgy at the Holy Dormition Cathedral in Odesa, according to the press service of the Odesa Eparchy.

Concelebrating with the ruling hierarch were the vicars of the Odesa Eparchy: Archbishop Diodor of Yuzhne, Archbishop Viktor of Artsyz, Archbishop Sergiy of Bolhrad, Bishop Anastasy of Ovidiopol, and Bishop Alipy of Tarutyne.

Also taking part in the cathedral service were the rector of the Odesa Theological Seminary, Archpriest Dymytriy, the abbot of the Holy Protection Monastery, Archimandrite Meletiy, and numerous clergy of the eparchy.

During the Liturgy, clergy and faithful offered prayers for the granting of peace to Ukraine and for the protection of its people. After the service, the hierarchs, clergy, and laity held a solemn procession with the wonderworking icon of the Most Holy Theotokos. Participants in the procession gave thanks to the Queen of Heaven for her intercession and unceasing help for the Orthodox people.

Earlier, the UOJ reported that the wonderworking icon of the Mother of God was honored at the Brailiv Monastery.
