TRC abducts Archimandrite Rufin, monk of Odesa monastery

On April 24, 2026, information appeared on social media about the detention in Odesa of Archimandrite Rufin, a monk of the Holy Dormition Monastery, according to a parishioner’s Facebook page.

According to the published information, the clergyman was pulled out of a taxi and taken away by TRC representatives. Later, he allegedly ended up at a training center near Kharkiv.

Archimandrite Rufin is reported to be a monk of the Holy Dormition Monastery for Men in Odesa. No other details about the circumstances of the incident are currently available.

Earlier, the UOJ reported that the TRC had detained an altar server of the capital’s Kazan Church of the UOC.
