Metropolitan Meletiy of Chernivtsi and Bukovyna consecrated a house church in the village of Stari Broskivtsi on May 24, 2026, report believers of the Chernivtsi-Bukovyna Eparchy of the UOC on Facebook.

On the seventh week after Pascha and the day of remembrance of Saints Cyril and Methodius, the hierarch led the solemn Liturgy in the new Church of the Three Holy Saints. Together with the archpastor prayed the dean of the Storozhynets district Archpriest Vasyl Kovalchuk, the rector of the church Archimandrite Vissarion Chykal, and numerous believers of Bukovyna.

The UOC community has arranged residential facilities in a church building to accommodate orphaned children. The parish plans to establish an orphanage on its premises, modeled after the well-known social project of the Bancheny Monastery.

Metropolitan Meletiy congratulated the rector and parishioners on the beginning of this important work of mercy and invoked God's blessing on the future residents of the shelter. At the conclusion of the service, Archimandrite Vissarion thanked the hierarch for the concelebrated prayer and consecration of the church.

As the UOJ reported, a new UOC church was consecrated in Pochapky, Rivne region. It was constructed after the transfer of the previous wooden church to another religious organization. The consecration of the new church became a special and long-awaited event for the believers.
