On June 1, 2026, the Feast of the Holy Spirit, the Holy Spirit Skete of Pochaiv Lavra celebrated its patronal feast, drawing approximately 4,000 faithful. This was reported by a UOJ correspondent.
The festal services were led by hierarchs of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church – Metropolitan Serhiy of Ternopil and Kremenets and Metropolitan Volodymyr of Pochaiv – concelebrating with numerous clergy. Despite the challenges of the present time, pilgrims traveled from various regions of Ukraine to gather in prayer and honor the Feast of the Holy Spirit.
During the Divine Liturgy, special petitions were offered for peace in Ukraine, an end to the war, the strengthening of the people, and the preservation of the Church. Many of the faithful approached the Holy Mysteries of Confession and Communion. Following the service, clergy and pilgrims took part in a solemn procession around the skete.
Located near Pochaiv Lavra, the Holy Spirit Skete is one of the best-known spiritual centers of Western Ukraine and each year attracts large numbers of pilgrims for its patronal feast. This year, around 4,000 believers participated in the celebrations.
As previously reported by the UOJ, thousands of faithful gathered at Pochaiv Lavra for the feast of St. Amphilochius of Pochaiv.
