Believers of the Volodymyr-Volynskyi Eparchy of the UOC reported about the forcible mobilization of the rector of the Transfiguration Church in the village of Osmyhovychi in Volyn, Archpriest Bohdan Katsevych.

According to available information, the incident occurred in Volodymyr when the priest was returning from the hospital together with his wife. In front of his wife, TRC employees ran up to him, after which, without providing any explanations, they used force, twisted his arms and pushed the clergyman into a car.

It is reported that while being held at the TRC, Archpriest Bohdan Katsevych suffered a heart attack. The priest's pregnant wife remained outside the TCC building, seeking permission for medical personnel to attend to her husband. Only after her efforts were paramedics allowed to reach him.

According to eyewitnesses, after examination, ambulance personnel stated the need for immediate hospitalization of the clergyman. However, the TRC leadership refused to release him to a medical institution.

As the UOJ reported, in recent months various eparchies of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church have repeatedly reported cases of forced mobilization of clerics. In particular, on June 4, 2026, police representatives detained a cleric of the Khmelnytskyi Eparchy of the UOC, Archpriest Andriy Chorny.
