Mobilization of UOC priests is illegal, Congresswoman Luna says
U.S. Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna called for an end to the forced conscription of UOC clerics into the army.
The mobilization of UOC clergy violates the norms of international law to which Ukraine is a signatory, Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna said in a post on X.
“I am still concerned that these UOC clergyman are being targeted and have heard that they are continuing to be sent to the front lines in combatant roles which is against international law,” Luna wrote.
The congresswoman also pledged to continue fighting for persecuted Christians – especially when the country in question is asking the United States for assistance.
“I will continue to fight for Christians being persecuted, especially if it is in a country that is ASKING for our aid, and will be tracking all of this,” she said.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that a mobilized UOC priest had been killed on the front line.
