The Ukrainian authorities have publicly expressed support for LGBT. The Ministry of Social Policy, Family and Unity published a rainbow logo of a same-sex family and stated that "equality begins with respect".

"In a society that respects human rights, everyone has the right to live without discrimination, fear, or the need to hide themselves," the ministry stated. According to the authors of the statement, "equal rights mean that dignity and freedom must be accessible to all without exception."

"On the occasion of Pride Month, we remind you of the values on which a strong and just society is built: respect, equality, safety, and every person's right to be themselves," the ministry wrote, adding the LGBT flag.

In the comments, the majority of Ukrainians expressed a sharply negative attitude toward the ministry's publication.

"On what basis does the Ministry of Family allow itself to make such statements???????" asks Manika Aleksandrovna.

"It is funny to read this at a time when discrimination against IDPs is taking place. If everyone is so equal, then why were payments not provided for children displaced in 2014 but only for IDPs of 2022? What do you call that? Hypocrites!!" wrote Khrystyna Dziuba.

"What about the Constitution of Ukraine? Ministry of Social Policy, Family and Unity of Ukraine, what is marriage in Ukraine based on?" wonders Alla Oleksandrivna.

"Sodom and Gomorrah, God will pour out His wrath upon your perversion, repent while it is not too late!" urges Svetljachok Fokina.

"A 90 billion loan works wonders," Oleksandr K. remarks ironically.

Earlier, the UOJ reported that an anniversary LGBT march took place in Kyiv.
