On June 28, 2026, Metropolitan Pavel, abbot of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, celebrated the Divine Liturgy at St. Barbara Church in the capital, the Lavra press service reported.
Concelebrating with Metropolitan Pavel were Metropolitan Nikodym of Zhytomyr and Novohrad-Volynskyi, Bishop Kliment of Borova, clergy of the monastery, and Archpriest Vasyl Ozymchuk together with the parish clergy.
During the Liturgy, Monk Avramiy, a resident of the Caves monastery, was ordained to the diaconate.
At the end of the service, Metropolitan Pavel thanked the hierarchs, clergy, and brethren for their common prayer. The Lavra abbot also congratulated the faithful on Sunday and those who had communed on receiving the Life-Giving Mysteries of Christ.
After the Liturgy, the hierarch addressed those present with an archpastoral word.
As the UOJ previously reported, the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra honored the memory of Hieromartyr Vladimir (Bogoyavlensky).
