Lawyers have secured a second military medical examination for Archpriest Oleh Kruchynin, who was unlawfully detained by TRC officers.
Archpriest Oleh Kruchynin, rector of the UOC Church of the Intercession in Kramatorsk, has been referred for a second examination by a military medical commission. The Conscience Freedom Charitable Foundation reported the development and announced a dedicated fundraiser to cover the priest's legal expenses.
According to the foundation, the lawyers' intervention secured a referral for Fr. Oleh to undergo another medical examination. The foundation described this as an important step toward ensuring an objective assessment of the priest's health and proper consideration of his chronic medical conditions when determining his fitness for military service.
The lawyers continue to handle the case and defend the archpriest's rights. The foundation thanked everyone who had donated, shared information about the case, or prayed for the priest.
As the UOJ previously reported, TRC officers detained Fr. Oleh Kruchynin, rector of the UOC Church of the Intercession in Kramatorsk, and sent him to Kharkiv for a military medical examination. Despite three medical conditions affecting his fitness for service, he was denied a deferment and transferred to a military training center in Zhytomyr region.
