The SSetnsc reported to the European Commission on combating antisemitism

On July 13, 2026, representatives of the State Service of Ukraine for Ethnopolitics and Freedom of Conscience reported to the European Commission on the implementation of measures in the field of combating antisemitism and protecting fundamental rights. This was reported by the SSETNSC press service.

The coordination meeting was held in a videoconference format with the participation of European Commission representatives, Ukrainian executive authorities, and other state structures. The parties discussed the implementation of the "Fundamental Rights" section of the Rule of Law Roadmap, developed within the framework of Ukraine's negotiations on accession to the European Union.

In particular, the participants reviewed the preparation of legislative amendments to introduce the position of a special coordinator for combating antisemitism. The strengthening of the SSETNSC's capacity to formulate and coordinate state policy aimed at preventing and countering antisemitism was also discussed.

Furthermore, the discussion covered consultations with religious organizations, civil society institutions, and international partners on issues related to the application of legislation governing the activities of religious associations. European Commission representatives also heard information on the implementation of the Venice Commission's recommendations regarding the right to conscientious objection to military service.

The SSETNSC stated that a number of regulatory and legislative initiatives are already at the final stage of preparation. The Ukrainian and European sides agreed to continue the coordination of actions necessary for fulfilling the Roadmap's objectives and carrying out reforms in accordance with European Union standards.

Previously, the UAOC reported that the head of the SSETNSC stated that the visit of John Paul II in 2001 was a "colossal step away from Moscow" and predetermined the waves of protest in Ukraine.
