Pastor in the US Called Abortion a "Blessing" and "an Act of Love"
Presbyterian pastor and professor of religious studies from the US Rebecca Todd Peters stated that abortion is a moral act, not a sin. This was reported by The Washington Post.
"Abortion is a moral good. Abortion is an act of love. Abortion is an act of grace... Abortion is a blessing," Peters said during her address to the congregation of a Unitarian community.
The pastor also called on churches to speak openly about women's reproductive rights and to stop stigmatizing them. The statement drew sharp criticism from conservative religious communities in the US, who regarded Peters' words as a justification for the killing of unborn children.
As the Union of Orthodox Journalists reported, earlier a transgender US congressman announced his ordination in a Protestant church.
