King of Britain officially visits mosque in Cambridge for the first time

British monarch and head of the Anglican Church Charles III visited the Cambridge Central Mosque in the first official visit by a member of the royal family in history. This is reported by Anadolu Ajansı.

The King toured the first "eco-mosque" in Europe, built with the support of Turkey. During the visit, the monarch met with imams, trustees, and representatives of the city's Muslim community. Among the guests were the Turkish Ambassador to London Osman Koray Ertaş and members of the board of the Cambridge Mosque Trust.

The King was presented with an exhibition titled "Science and Technology in Islam," showcasing the contribution of Islamic civilization to science. The guest was given gifts: a glass paperweight inspired by the architecture of the Selimiye Mosque, and a copy of Fuat Sezgin's work on the scientific heritage.

Charles III was also handed a letter from Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, in which he invited the monarch to visit the republic. The local bishop and rabbi were also present at the meeting with the monarch.

As the SPJ reported, the English government is introducing restrictions on "anti-Muslim hostility".
