The St. Luke the Apostle and Evangelist Theological School of Icon Painting in Kamianets-Podilskyi has announced that its admissions office remains open as part of the 2026 enrollment campaign. The school’s official website, ikonnyk.com, reported the news.

Entrance examinations are scheduled for August 11–12, 2026. Orthodox Christians with basic or complete secondary education may apply, provided they have a reference from a priest and are willing to participate in the spiritual life of the school.

The admissions office is open on weekdays from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at 2 Soborna Street, Kamianets-Podilskyi. Further information is available by phone at +38 098 717 32 33 or by email at ikonnyk@ukr.net.

The school trains icon painters by combining theological education, artistic instruction, and spiritual formation. Its program is intended for those who wish to develop their creative abilities within the Church tradition and serve the Church through the creation of sacred images.

A list of required documents, the entrance examination program, and sample forms are available on the school’s website in the “For Applicants” section.

“Icon-painting education is not simply work with a brush. It combines drawing and color, icon-painting techniques and technology, Holy Scripture, theology, iconography, the history of Church art, liturgics, and practical training,” the school said.

The school also showed what future icon painters study: “In this carousel, we show the journey of a student at the Kamianets-Podilskyi Icon-Painting Theological School – from learning how to see to completing a graduation icon.”

As the UOJ previously reported, the Kamianets-Podilskyi Icon-Painting Theological School enrolls students every year and is one of the few specialized educational institutions in Ukraine where icon painting is taught together with theological education and spiritual formation.

Applicants are advised not to delay contacting the admissions office, as reaching out early helps them better understand the requirements and prepare more thoroughly for the examinations.
