From August 13 to 16, 2026, the "KinoBuket" festival will be held on the grounds of the National Reserve "St. Sophia of Kyiv," featuring film screenings, exhibitions, and discussions, reports Ukrinform.
One of the main venues will be the Refectory, which is part of the complex of the ancient Orthodox shrine. Modern films will be screened there, and discussions will be held on the war, cultural diplomacy, and the so-called "cultural genocide."
The program also includes projects about veterans, Ukrainian animation, short films, and a photo exhibition. The organizers chose the slogan "Armed with Beauty" as the overarching theme of the event, presenting culture as one of the tools of struggle.
In addition, a venue called "Kobzarska Polyana" will be set up on the reserve's grounds, and some screenings will be held in the open air. Visitors are also invited to public discussions and other events unrelated to the shrine's liturgical life.
"KinoBuket" will be part of the Bouquet Kyiv Stage festival, which brings together film, theater, music, literature, and public discussions. Thus, the space of St. Sophia of Kyiv is once again being used not as an Orthodox shrine, but as a venue for a large-scale secular and ideological program.
The Union of Orthodox Journalists previously reported that the authorities discussed with Dumenko the development of cultural routes in the Lavra.
