Two Primates of Local Churches to attend Patriarch Bartholomew's jubilee

Patriarch Theodore II of Alexandria and Archbishop Joan of Albania will travel to the Greek island of Imbros to participate in Patriarch Bartholomew's jubilee, reports the Greek public broadcaster ERT.
On August 13, 2026, the Primates of three Local Orthodox Churches will celebrate a joint Divine Liturgy at the metropolitan Cathedral of the Most Holy Theotokos.
The jubilee celebrations mark the 65th anniversary of Patriarch Bartholomew's ordination to the diaconate. The future Patriarch received his first holy order in this same cathedral in his homeland on August 13, 1961.
Two days later, on August 15, the Feast of the Dormition of the Most Holy Theotokos, Patriarch Bartholomew and Archbishop Joan of Albania will again concelebrate the Divine Liturgy. The service will be held at the Church of the Annunciation in the mountain village of Agridia on the island of Imbros.
As the UOJ reported, Patriarch Shio of Georgia will visit the Phanar.
