The 3rd Army Corps of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, led by "Azov" commander Andriy Biletsky, delivered the remains of the founder of the Ukrainian Military Organization (UMO) and the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists (OUN), Yevhen Konovalets, to the Patriarchal Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ of the UGCC in Kyiv. This was reported by Ukrinform.

The ceremony took place on the first night after Konovalets' ashes were returned to Ukraine. The coffin with his ashes was brought to the cathedral on an original Austin armored vehicle from the era of the Ukrainian revolution. Konovalets was met at the church with a corridor of torches.

An artillery gun carriage was attached to the armored vehicle, which in Ukrainian and European traditions is considered a mark of the highest military honor. A three-inch cannon was also attached to the vehicle — an original 1917 model that was in service with the UNR army in the Sich Riflemen division under Konovalets' command.

It is noted that during the ceremony, servicemen paid tribute to the leader of the nationalist movement, and beams of light were directed into the sky.

As the UOJ previously reported, the remains of OUN (M) leader Melnyk were brought to the UGCC cathedral in Kyiv earlier.
