Son of a Priest of the Nizhyn Diocese Killed at the Front

On August 11, 2026, during a combat mission in the Donetsk region, Ukrainian Armed Forces soldier Alexander Vorobey was killed — the son of the dean of the Bakhmach church district of the Nizhyn Diocese, Archpriest Viktor Vorobey. This was reported by the diocesan press service.
Alexander was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine in 2023. He was killed at the age of 32. The serviceman is survived by his parents, wife, and a young child.
Metropolitan Clement of Nizhyn and Pryluky, the hierarchs, clergy, and faithful of the Nizhyn Diocese expressed their condolences to Archpriest Viktor Vorobey and his family.
The diocese called on the faithful to commemorate in prayer the newly departed warrior Alexander.
As the SPJ reported, the son of a priest of the Chernihiv Diocese of the UOC was killed at the front.
