A monk of the Svityaz Monastery of the UOC was killed in the war
The Volodymyr-Volyn Diocese expressed condolences to the brotherhood of the monastery and called on the faithful to offer fervent prayers for the repose of the cleric.
A monk of the Svityaz St. Peter and Paul Monastery, Hierodeacon Niphon, was killed in the war. The cleric gave his life defending Ukraine. This was reported by the Volodymyr-Volyn Diocese.
Hierodeacon Niphon (Shendyapin) served in the men's monastery in the village of Svityaz in Volhynia. Metropolitan Volodymyr, the clergy and the faithful of the diocese expressed their sincere condolences to the abbot, the brotherhood of the monastery, as well as to the family and loved ones of the newly-departed clergyman.
Orthodox Christians were called to offer fervent prayers for the repose of the soul of Father Niphon, that the Lord may grant him rest in a place of light, where there is no pain or sorrow, but life everlasting.
As the SPJ reported, a cleric of the Dnipropetrovsk Diocese died of wounds sustained in a shelling.
