Bishop Veniamin of Boyarka visits UOC parishes in Scandinavia

Bishop Veniamin of Boyarka, head of the Western European Vicariate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, visited Ukrainian Orthodox communities in Sweden and Norway, the Vicariate’s official Facebook page reports.
On August 4–5, 2026, with the blessing of His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry, Bishop Veniamin celebrated festive services for the patronal feast of the parish dedicated to the Pochaiv Icon of the Most Holy Theotokos in Stockholm. Concelebrating with the bishop were parish rector Archpriest Petro Ivasyv, clergy of the Vicariate, as well as priests of the Georgian and Serbian Local Churches.
On August 6–7, the bishop paid an official visit to St. Ignatios College in Södertälje, where he met with Dean Dr. Michael Hjälm and celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the college chapel.
On August 8–9, Bishop Veniamin visited the UOC parish in Gothenburg, where he celebrated the All-Night Vigil and the Divine Liturgy together with parish rector Archpriest Ioan Chychyna. He also visited UOC missionary centers in nearby towns, where he met with Ukrainians and representatives of the Church of Sweden. The dean and clergy of St. Ignatios College expressed their desire to continue cooperation with the Vicariate.
On August 16, the bishop celebrated the Divine Liturgy at Holy Trinity Parish in Kristiansand, Norway, congratulating its rector, Archpriest Volodymyr Saviyskyi, on the 25th anniversary of his priestly ordination.
As the UOJ reported, Bishop Mark of Rakhiv presided over the patronal feast of a UOC community in Budapest.
