In London and Paris, Sharia is virtually a second way of life – Trump

Donald Trump stated that Islamic law (Sharia) has already effectively become part of everyday life in London and Paris, calling it "ridiculous." This was reported by LifeSiteNews.

Speaking on August 26, 2026, on the radio with host Glenn Beck, the US President said: "Regarding Sharia, I would absolutely say that it is not for our country. There is no Sharia here. But there are isolated pockets, as you know. But in London, in Paris, it has already become almost a second way of life. It's ridiculous." Trump emphasized that such a situation is unacceptable for the United States and declared his readiness to "absolutely" prohibit Sharia norms in the country.

The President added that isolated manifestations of Sharia are also recorded in the United States itself, albeit to a minor degree, and that the authorities intend to suppress them. "We are rooting it out when we see it, and that needs to be done. We have one system, we have a great system, sometimes very frustrating, but the best there is," Trump said.

Sharia is a comprehensive system of Islamic law that governs not only the religious practice of Muslims but also the organization of society in accordance with the Quran.

As the UOJ reported, the US Congress established the "America Without Sharia" caucus.
