Metropolitan Longin of Bancheny underwent heart surgery, reports the press service of the Ascension Bancheny Monastery on the Telegram channel.
"With God's help, the surgery went well. We thank everyone for their prayers!" the message reads.
The day before, on September 17, the monastery's brotherhood asked the faithful to offer special prayers for the health of the hierarch, who was scheduled for heart surgery that day. Information about the progress of the operation was published after its completion.
As teh UOJ reported, Metropolitan Longin of Bancheny previously called the brutal attack on the Holy Dormition Lavra a tragedy for every Orthodox believer and urged people to pray fervently for the persecuted Church.
