Kyiv lane can be renamed after Filaret (Denysenko)

In the Shevchenkivsky district of Kyiv, a survey is being conducted on renaming Rylsky Lane after Filaret Denysenko, the late head of the Kyiv Patriarchate. The survey is available in the «Kyiv Digital» app until September 30, 2026, reports Vechirniy Kyiv.
The Kyiv City State Administration states that the renaming allows for a gradual departure from names imposed by the authorities of the imperial and Soviet periods, and returns Ukrainian names and historical figures to Kyiv's urban space.
As the UOJ reported, one of Kyiv's avenues was previously proposed to be renamed after Lubomyr Husar.
