From October 5 to 6, 2026, with the blessing of Metropolitan Agathangel of Odesa and Izmail, the II All-Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Conference "In the Footsteps of the Apostles", devoted to the topic "The Orthodox Family", took place at the Odesa Theological Seminary, reports the Odesa Eparchy.
The forum, organized on the territory of the Holy Dormition Monastery for men, was attended by clergy, teachers, psychologists, parents, and active laypeople.
On the first day of the conference, participants listened to presentations and discussed issues concerning the spiritual and moral foundations of the Orthodox family, the psychology of relationships, and the upbringing of children and young people. Clergy, teachers, and specialists from various fields shared their knowledge and experience with those present, and during the coffee breaks the conversation continued in a relaxed atmosphere.
The second day was devoted to practical joint work in groups. Participants developed a program for the course "The Orthodox Family", considered the topics "Family Traditions" and "Family Projects", and also prepared methodological recommendations for preparing couples for the Sacrament of Marriage and for conducting conversations before the Sacrament of Baptism.
The results of each group's work were presented for general discussion. The two-day forum concluded with a summing-up and a prayer of thanksgiving.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that Metropolitan Augustine took part in a cardiology conference in Paris.
