On the feast day of St. Sergius of Radonezh, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry of Kyiv and All Ukraine celebrated the Divine Liturgy for the patronal feast of the church complex in the Solomianka Deanery of the capital. This was reported by the Information and Education Department of the UOC.
Concelebrating with the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church were Metropolitan Anthony of Boryspil and Brovary, Chancellor of the UOC; Metropolitan Ioasaph of Vasylkiv; Metropolitan Filaret of Lviv and Halych; Metropolitan Victor of Khmelnytskyi and Starokostiantyniv; Archbishop Sylvester of Bilohorodka; Archbishop Dionysiy of Pereiaslav-Khmelnytskyi; Archbishop Lavr of Irpin; Archbishop Mark of Borodianka; as well as the church’s clergy and visiting priests.
Following the reading of the Holy Gospel, His Beatitude delivered an archpastoral sermon to the assembled faithful. During the service, clergy and laity offered prayers for peace in Ukraine, deliverance from the enemy, the release of prisoners, the healing of the sick, and shelter for those who have lost their homes.
The festive service concluded with a rite of glorification before the icon of St. Sergius of Radonezh. Metropolitan Onuphry then congratulated the faithful on their patronal feast and bestowed his archpastoral blessing upon all those present.
As previously reported by the UOJ, His Beatitude consecrated the Church of Sts. Cosmas and Damian in Kyiv.
