The Ukrainian Orthodox Church Rebuts Transition of 12 Parishes to the Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church
Parishes and the clergy of the Transcarpathian dioceses of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church did not transit to the Carpathian Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church diocese. This was stated by representatives of the Mukachevo and Khust eparchies of the UOC.
"We know about the so-called newly formed Carpathian diocese of the Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church, which is reported to be headed by Fr. Victor Bed’. For 15 June, 2015, no parish and no priest of the Mukachevo diocese of the UOC have transited there. We do not have any written or oral evidence of such facts, "- said a representative of the Mukachevo diocese of the UOC Archpriest Alexander Monich.
The Secretary of the Khust diocese Archimandrite Job Stets also refutes rumors about the transition of local priests and parishes of the UOC.
“Thank God, everything is fine with us - nobody has gone, - said the priest. - They can start such rumors on purpose, in order to win people over to them." According to him, the staff of the diocese filed a request to the Ukrainian Theological Academy of the Carpathian University, the site of which posted this information, asking them to specify which parishes and priests of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church transited to the Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church, "but we haven’t received any answer yet." "If it was, it would be provided," - said Fr. Job.
We remind that that the other day on the site of the Ukrainian Theological Academy of the Carpathian University, whose rector is a defrocked cleric of the UOC Victor Bed’, it was reported that 12 parishes and 11 priests of the Mukachevo and Khust eparchies of the UOC joined the Carpathian diocese of the Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church.
