Patriarch of Constantinople proposes to allow the second marriage for the widowed clergy
June 23, Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople proposed to allow the second marriage for the widowed clergy at the session of the Pan-Orthodox Council, reports a UOJ source.
This proposal was strongly opposed by representatives of the Polish and Serbian Orthodox Churches, drawing attention to the fact that the proposal is contrary to the canons.
The UOJ is monitoring the developments in Crete.
