Dmytruk: The Church "relies" not on politicians, but exclusively on God
The main weapon of the UOC is prayer, emphasized the MP.
In a live broadcast on journalist Oleksandr Shelest's YouTube channel, Member of Parliament Artem Dmytruk explained why the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) does not defend itself through forceful methods.
Oleksandr Shelest asked Dmytruk why the Church does not defend itself and relies on people who "cannot defend it in a social and political sense". Shelest also mentioned Poroshenko, who was a "servant" of the UOC but later betrayed it.
In response, Artem Dmytruk said that the "mistake" of the Church is its "kindness, openness, and willingness to welcome all people who seek communication, repentance, and who want to attain faith and God."
"The mistake our Church has lived with throughout its existence is kindness," Dmytruk noted skeptically.
He emphasized that the Church does not rely on political figures but relies exclusively on God.
"The main weapon of the UOC is prayer. The prayer of millions of citizens of our country. It's emotions, thoughts, and energy, if you want to put it simply, through which the Lord gives people the ability to move mountains," concluded the MP.
As reported by the Union of Orthodox Journalists (UOJ), Artem Dmytruk said about whether the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra would return to the UOC.
