It is reported that the suspect disseminated information on social media denying the legality of religious communities' activities.

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) in the Kirovohrad region has announced charges against a resident of the Kropyvnytskyi district for inciting religious and interfaith hatred, according to the SBU's Facebook page. According to the investigation, the resident of Hannivka village publicly disseminated offensive statements on social media aimed at discrediting religious communities and denying the legality of their activities.

Law enforcement authorities claim that the suspect was engaged in subversive information activities. The SBU asserts that these actions contributed to the destabilization of the socio-political situation in the region, serving the interests of the aggressor country.

Based on the collected evidence, he has been charged under Part 1 of Article 161 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which provides punishment for violating the equality of citizens based on race, nationality, religion, and other characteristics.

The investigation was conducted by the SBU in cooperation with the National Police under the procedural guidance of the Znamianka District Prosecutor's Office.

As previously reported by the UOJ, a UOC priest in the Zhytomyr region was charged for a sermon.
