Nationalists from the Tradition and Order organization attempted to disrupt the LGBT parade, but law enforcement officers stopped their action.

On September 12, the "Kharkiv Pride" LGBT march was held in Kharkiv, Strana.ua reports.

According to the outlet, the LGBT Pride event began at 12:00. An hour before the start, near the monument to Taras Shevchenko on Sumska Street, nationalists from the Tradition and Order organization held an action opposing LGBT, but it was stopped by law enforcement officers.

The LGBT march began under the cordon of many hundreds of law enforcement officers. Activists brought LGBT rainbow flags and placards with slogans such as: “Scientifically proven – sexual orientation is not a choice,” “Safety, equality, Kharkiv Pride,” and others.

The column reached the Botanical Garden, where the march ended. Participants were asked to hide their symbols and proceed to the metro under police escort.

As previously reported by the UOJ, the organizers of KyivPride demanded recognition of same-sex marriages in Ukraine.
