Monk Nektariy has been temporarily discharged but still faces a critical surgery.

Monk Nektariy, who was hospitalized after being brutally beaten by radicals near the UOC cathedral in Cherkasy on October 17, has been temporarily discharged from the hospital, according to a statement from the Cherkasy Eparchy Telegram channel on November 13.

The diocesan press service reports that during his hospital stay, Monk Nektariy underwent several surgeries.

"At the moment, he has been temporarily released for outpatient care, but he still requires another surgical procedure. Currently, this is too risky as Monk Nektariy’s hemoglobin levels are not normal. We are waiting and praying," the statement reads.

The Cherkasy Eparchy noted that only after the upcoming surgery will Monk Nektariy be able to walk again.

"We ask everyone who cares to pray for our confessor!" the press service urged.

As previously reported by the UOJ, the chief physician of a Cherkasy hospital had allegedly ordered medical staff not to admit UOC believers.
