The organizers of the festival stated they listened to the criticism regarding holding their event on the Day of Remembrance for Holodomor victims.

KyivPride has decided to reschedule the “Queer Propaganda Fest,” originally planned for November 23–24, following criticism over the date, as announced on their Instagram. The festival coincided with the Day of Remembrance for Holodomor Victims, observed annually on the last Saturday of November.

In their Instagram statement, KyivPride acknowledged their mistake:
“You are right—we made a mistake. While preparing for the ‘Queer Propaganda Fest,’ we failed to check the date. Later, we realized how many people from the community and our partners were outraged by our decision. Initially, since the planned fest was educational rather than entertaining, we decided to proceed. However, after discussing it with the team and carefully reconsidering, we decided to reschedule our event.”

The organizers also shared that they are working to confirm new dates for the festival and will release a new announcement, apologizing for any inconvenience caused.

Earlier, UOJ reported that KyivPride initially stated they would not reschedule the LGBT festival despite its overlap with the Holodomor Memorial Day.
