Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal congratulated all Jews of Ukraine on the Hanukkah holiday, as reported on Facebook by Chief Rabbi of the Federation of Jewish Communities in Kyiv, Yonatan Markovych.

According to Shmyhal, the flame of Hanukkah reminds him of the miracle that illuminated the path to freedom and victory.

"The Festival of Lights is a source of inspiration; it strengthens faith in the possibility of change and triumph, even when circumstances seem unfavorable," wrote the Prime Minister. He wished the rabbi that Hanukkah would reinforce his confidence and grant him strength for the struggle and recovery ahead.

Earlier, the UOJ reported that Kyrylo Budanov, Head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, expressed confidence during celebrations at a Kyiv synagogue that Hanukkah would illuminate the victories of both Ukraine and Israel.
