Judges granted the motion filed by UOC lawyers.

On January 27, a hearing was held at the Northern Commercial Court of Appeals in Kyiv regarding the eviction of the monks of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra.

At the 1:00 PM session, the court reviewed a lawsuit filed by the National Reserve "Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra" against the monastery, seeking to evict the brethren from the Lower Lavra. Lawyers representing the monastery submitted a motion to halt the proceedings, arguing that another related case concerning the unilateral termination of the agreement for the use of the Lower Lavra territory was already being reviewed in the same court. The court granted this motion and suspended the case.

The Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra's lawyer, Archpriest Nikita Chekman, shared the following statement:

"Dear friends, good news from the Northern Commercial Court of Appeals! The proceedings on the eviction of the monastery have been suspended until the full review of the case concerning the unilateral termination of the agreement for the use of the Lower Lavra! Glory be to God for everything!"

As previously reported by the UOJ, at 2:00 PM, another court session will take place in the Northern Court of Kyiv to hear the monastery's lawsuit against the reserve concerning the use of the churches of the Upper Lavra.
