Court grants motion by UOC lawyers in the Upper Lavra case
The court hearing has been postponed to February 2025.
On January 27, a session was held at the Northern Commercial Court of Appeals in Kyiv regarding the lawsuit filed by the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra against the National Reserve "Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra" concerning the right to use the churches of the Upper Lavra.
The Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra's lawyer, Archpriest Nikita Chekman, reported the court's decision: the Northern Court granted the Lavra's lawyers' motion to include the Kyiv Metropolis as a third party in the case. The next court hearing on the Upper Lavra issue has been rescheduled for February 26.
As previously reported by the UOJ, the court suspended the hearing on the eviction of monks from the Lower Lavra.
