MinCult reports on number of shrines damaged and destroyed by RF in Ukraine

A total of 642 religious buildings have been damaged or completely destroyed, including 596 Christian churches.
Ukraine’s Ministry of Culture, citing data from the Religion in Fire project, reported on the number of religious buildings damaged or completely destroyed due to military actions in Ukraine. This information was shared on the ministry’s Facebook page.
"As of February 2, 2025, Russian forces have damaged or completely destroyed 642 religious buildings, of which 596 are Christian churches," the statement reads.
According to the ministry, Donetsk region has suffered the most, with 19 religious sites completely destroyed and a total of 131 damaged, including 81 Christian churches.
Earlier, the UOJ reported on the number of churches damaged or destroyed by the end of 2024.
