Serbian Church marks anniversary of Patriarch Porfirije’s enthronement
The solemn enthronement of the 46th Serbian Patriarch took place on February 19, 2021, in the Holy Archangel Cathedral in Belgrade.
On February 19, 2025, the Serbian Orthodox Church marked the fourth anniversary of the enthronement of Serbian Patriarch Porfirije, according to the SOC’s official website.
Metropolitan Porfirije of Zagreb and Ljubljana was elected Primate of the Serbian Orthodox Church on February 18, 2021, during a session of the Holy Assembly of Bishops held in the Church of Saint Sava in Belgrade. After the election results were announced, church bells rang, followed by a thanksgiving moleben.
The solemn enthronement of the 46th Serbian Patriarch took place on February 19, 2021, in the Holy Archangel Cathedral in Belgrade. Since then, His Holiness has actively carried out his archpastoral ministry, which includes liturgical services, canonical visits, meetings with state and church leaders, participation in charitable initiatives, and messages to the faithful.
Over the past four years, Patriarch Porfirije has continued to strengthen the spiritual life and unity of the Serbian Orthodox Church, bearing witness to the Orthodox faith both in Serbia and beyond.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that Patriarch Porfirije discussed with the Ukrainian ambassador the mistakes of the authorities regarding the UOC.
